His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin Program in LA 2024

“Bardo” is the state of existence intermediate between two lives in samsara. According to Tibetan Buddhism, after death and before one’s next birth, when one’s consciousness is not connected with a physical body, one experiences a variety of phenomena. Just after death, the clearest experiences of reality will arise. For the prepared and appropriately trained practitioners, the bardo offers a state of great opportunity for liberation, since transcendental insight may arise with the direct experience of reality; for others, it can become a place of danger as the karmically created hallucinations can impel one into a less than desirable rebirth.

His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin will provide us with his insight on the practices and preparation for Bardo and oral transmission of the Amitabha Phowa, for daily practice as well as preparation at the last stage of life.

「中陰」是輪迴中兩世之間的存在的一種狀態。在藏傳佛教中，人死後和下一世之前，當一個人的意識與肉身沒有聯繫時，就會經歷各種現象。死後，人對於現實的最清晰的體驗將會顯現。因此，對於有準備和經過修持的修行者來說，中陰提供了一個獲得解脫的絕佳機會，明心見性可以透過最清晰、直接的現證而產生。對其他人來說，它可能會成為一個危險的地方，因為業力造成的幻覺會迫使一個人進入不太理想的重生。

第四十二任薩迦法王將為我們教授關於中陰及其修行的教法以及修持指導，並口傳阿彌陀佛的頗瓦法，以此利益我們的日常修行，為自我及他人的生命最後階段做準備。
