His Holiness the Sakya Trichen Program in LA 2024

Dear Dharma friends,

We are overjoyed to announce that His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trichen will visit Southern California in August 2024. His Holiness has accepted our request for the empowerment of Chimé Phakmé Nyingtik during his visit.

Chimé Phakmé Nyingtik (འཆི་མེད་འཕགས་མའི་སྙིང་ཐིག་) known as “The Heart Essence of the Sublime Lady of Immortality” is a long life practice revealed as a mind terma by Jamyang Khyentsé Wangpo in 1855.

This practice’s main deity is the female Buddha White Tara united with Nartesvara (Lord of the Dance). It also includes Amitayus and Ushnishavijaya. Many practices accomplish each of the three deities individually, but the Chimé Pakmé Nyingtik accomplishes all three deities together, which makes it a very special longevity practice.

Another special feature of this sadhana is that the main deity is the female White Tara, in union with her consort, which is highly unusual. It was the main heart practice of Jamgon Kontrul Rinpoche, Jamyang Khyentse Choekyi Lodro Rinpoche, Dudjom Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, and Sakya Gongma Trichen Rinpoche. 

As His Holiness mentioned in the preface to the book Sublime Lady of Immortality: Teachings on Chime Phakme Nyingtik, “Chimé Phakmé Nyingtik is a very important treasure teaching from Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. It is one of my personal practices, and I do its short sadhana every day. It is a very precious teaching and a great blessing, and from my own experience even people who are terminally ill can survive through its practice.”

Through this practice, we may accomplish long life, removal of obstacles, benefit of others, and spiritual enlightenment.
